Autumn leaves on the birch trees surround the little Pioneer Park Chapel at Fairbanks. Built in 1904 as a mission church by Presbyterians, who were the first to hold services in the Fairbanks area. It was moved to the Pioneer Park in 1966, and is now used for Anglican Services on Sundays.
Its uniqueness is the role that it still plays in the community as the scene of many weddings by members of many churches and others wishing to have the itimacy of a small wedding in a beautiful setting remenicient of old times past mixed with the present.
Many weddings are held during the tourist season as well as early in the Spring and late in the Fall. Often tourists are treated with a "real wedding" taking place while they are visiting the park. Truly one of the fine features of the Pioneer Park.
