Festival of Lights '99

The Delta Chamber of Commerce would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our third annual Festival of Lights, February 12, 13 & 14, 1999. The festival is a three day community wide event to fight "Cabin Fever" and welcome the Lights of Spring.

 

 

Last years festivities provided something for everyone including:

  • Light parade
  • Fireworks
  • Snowmachine races
  • Swimming
  • Skiing
  • Ice sculpting
  • Health fair
  • Dog sled races and weight pulls
  • Snow painting
  • Square dancing

    • Sleigh rides
    • Three-on-three basketball tournament
    • Sourdough pancake breakfast
    • Spaghetti feeds
    • Bunny boot softball
    • Craft and merchant bazaar
    • Casino night
    • Pool tournament
    • Science fair.

    The three day celebration concluded with the festival king igniting a community bonfire where awards were handed out for various events.

    This years festival should prove to be even bigger with new and exciting events being scheduled such as:

    And don't forget the renowned "POLAR BEAR PLUNGE".
    The three top vote-getters will plunge into an outdoor dunk tank, no matter what the temperature. Come help us celebrate Delta's Festival of Lights '99! There are many ways to help.

     

     

     

    You or your organization could sponsor an event, enter a float in the parade (there are no entry fees). Start a new event, or if these options aren't possible or desirable, participate by attending and enjoying the Festival of Lights '99.
